PROJECTS/CLIENT MANAGER (EDUCATION)

ARCHITECTURE/vbn is seeking an energetic, talented Projects/Client Manager with 10 to 12 years of higher education planning and design experience to join our innovative team. This is NOT a Project Architect position.

This highly organized Manager will oversee the day-to-day client and project management of education projects and will report to the Director of Educational Facilities. This individual will oversee planning, design, and building projects (including managing studies and projects associated with campus-wide planning, space planning & programming, and innovative solution development); will work with internal and external committees on complex and sensitive planning issues and projects; provide high quality research and analysis, interpret data, synthesize conclusions into recommendations, and produce clear and concise verbal and written reports and presentations; will possess critical familiarity with California community college and university campus planning and related regulatory systems; will be able to develop process plans, and lead clients through designed interface to elicit necessary data and solutions in support of the project goals. This individual is innovative and capable of leading creative thought to solution. The responsibilities of this person will not focus on technical construction documentation.

The appropriate candidate will also demonstrate the following experience:

• Minimum 10 years of professional working experience;
• Minimum 7-8 years of demonstrable Client Leadership and Management experience, successfully delivering complex Higher Education projects;
• Min. 5 year Bachelor or Masters Degree in Architecture, MArch preferred;
• Licensed Architect in California or ability to obtain registration within 6 months;
• Exceptional Management and Organizational Skills;
• Proven Client and Interpersonal Communication Skills;
• Innovative, creative, attentive to design;
• Skilled at multi-tasking and working towards multiple deadlines;
• High level of experience in leading the development of innovative design deliverables;
• Contract scope and fee development;
• Computer software fluency is mandatory (e.g. MS Office, Adobe Suite, other)
• Must have a passion for leading clients through a positive project experience; and
• Track record of successful client interaction, with client references
